Finca Las Hormigas isn’t just a farm it’s an immersive learning environment. We host student groups from around the world, bringing education off the page and into the soil. Here, students learn by doing: growing food, building systems, exploring culture, and discovering sustainable living in action.

Regenerate soil, create compost, and craft bioinputs through hands-on exploration.

ORGANIC FARMING

Practice natural pest management, and soil-building methods that treat soil as a living ecosystem.

FARM-TO-TABLE

Prepare ferments and cook fresh farm meals using permaculture principles.

AGROFORESTRY

Explore composting, earthworks, crop rotation, and agroforestry to restore soil health and landscape resilience.

NATURAL BUILDING

Shape the land and build sustainably with clay, cob, and other natural materials.

INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE

Participate in a locally led cacao ceremony and learn from the ancestral practices of the Bri Bri community.
