Finca Las Hormigas is a living space where land, knowledge, and relationships grow together. Through our Community Living program, we invite you to move beyond tourism and truly inhabit our space in the Talamanca jungle, sharing our daily rhythm at your own pace.
This space is designed for those who wish to experience rural life up close, connect with nature, and step into the flow of community living.
THE COMMUNITY LIVING EXPERIENCE
This program allows you to design your days with balance, giving you the freedom to focus on your own rhythm while actively integrating into our community dynamic. We share the care of our communal life through a rotating kitchen schedule, taking turns cooking dinner during the week, preparing all meals on weekends, and cleaning up together after we share the table.
For your daily focus, our dedicated coworking space and the surrounding jungle provide an inspiring backdrop for remote work, creative projects, or quiet study. Outside of work and community rhythms, the land is yours to explore. You are always welcome to tap into the quiet energy of the yoga Shala, walk our forest trails, or find a moment of stillness with direct access to the river.

PROGRAM DETAILS
The Community Living Program is open to anyone who is adaptable, community-minded, and ready to encounter the reality of life in the jungle. No prior experience in farming or rural living is required, just an open mind and a genuine willingness to share, collaborate, and grow with us.
Because this is an immersive stay rather than a volunteer exchange, there are no structured farm work shifts. Instead, the focus is on a shared lifestyle rooted in mutual support and collaboration.
Your financial contribution covers your accommodation, three daily meals seven days a week, and full access to our coworking space, yoga Shala, trails, and river.
Program rates are $250 a week or $800 for a full month in a shared bungalow,
and $500 a week or $2,000 for a full month in a private bungalow.
In support of those who live and care for this country, all Costa Ricans receive a 50% discount.
RESPONSIBLE & REGENERATIVE TRAVEL
Every participant contributes directly to a project centered around care for the Earth, the people and fairsharing.
By joining us, your presence supports an independent, working farm that prioritizes soil care, community integration, and respect for our surroundings. Your contribution goes directly toward keeping the farm running and ensuring we can pay our staff fair, decent salaries for the dedication they pour into this land every day.
